Top Secret security clearance – RCMP Top Secret security clearance – This factor is not used at the pre-selection stage. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is responsible for the security clearance process.

All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

RCMP medical requirement:

*Check suitability of the weather prior to each flight assignment. This may be carried out online or on the phone
*Responsible to clean the aircraft and conduct a pre-flight inspection (Daily Inspection or “DI”) of the aircraft after each day’s flight assignment and to secure the aircraft at the end of each day (ie. Tie-down, covers, etc.)
*Meet and communicate with the customer each morning regarding the day’s flight assignments and may also be required to be formal customer liaison at other times
Prior to each flight ensure that the aircraft is ready to fly and is suitably-equipped for the mission (ie. Sling gear, water bucket, nets, etc.)
*May be required to drop crews in the field and return to camp or remain in the field with the crews between flights.
*Complete paperwork after each day’s flying assignment including Journey Log entries, Flight Tickets, Pilot Work Record, tracking paperwork, communicate with Engineer or with the Base with respect to anomalous operations and running aircraft times

Yellowhead Helicopters is currently seeking applications for licensed Helicopter Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) for both full-time and seasonal contract positions. These positions would be operationally controlled out of our Prince George, BC facility and will require travel to various work locations across Canada including locations in remote Northern BC.

Position Overview

Yellowhead Helicopters Ltd. is looking for licensed AMEs that are endorsed on BK 117, Bell 212 or Airbus AS350 series for secured project work. Reporting directly to our Director of Maintenance, these are full time or contract positions, which are available immediately. Postings will be flexible for residing location; however there is additional incentive offered for AMEs willing to relocate to Prince George.

Experience required

For all positions, AME must hold a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M) license; endorsement on aircraft is preferable; strong understanding of the Canadian Air Regulations, excellent communication skills; ability to follow documented policies and procedures including pre- employment drug and alcohol test; Class 5 driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract; and appropriate skills and experience listed by type below. Applicant must not have any criminal convictions that would restrict a foreign work visa. Language of work: English

Job Duties

  • Communicate with the pilot with respect to maintenance-related problems and snags, looming inspections, etc.
  • Resolve snags and carry out aircraft inspections after the day’s flying is complete. Inspections may be carried out on a progressive basis or all at once. The number of hours required will depend on the assistance that is available (apprentice(s) or engineer(s)) and the nature of the snag/inspection.
  • Carry out associated paperwork/ training including Journey Log, Maintenance Log entries and all company required training (DATS) based on regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate with the company base to report hours, request parts and supplies, consult on the resolution of specific problems, etc.
  • May include work in the evenings and occasionally overnight when inspections are required.
  • Conduct the Daily Inspection of the Aircraft at the end of each flight-day.
  • May be called upon to do other tasks including but not limited to, building sling loads, coordinating cargo
  • transportation, ground travel to receive necessary parts, fueling the aircraft during operations, etc.
  • May be called upon to accompany a pilot on short maintenance test flights
  • May be called upon to help Base Engineers
  • Join the pilot on a ground-run of the aircraft following maintenance and prior to a maintenance test flight
  • Carry out other duties assigned

Simulator training is required by the regulations and essential to the readiness of our aviation units.I/O will provide ARNG and regional aviators with the required simulator instructor expertise to facilitate their use of ARNG simulators to ensure they are trained and current in their assigned aircraft.I/O shall operate the simulator device to train all of the crewmember tasks required by Chapter Four of the aircraft applicable ATM.I/O aviation instruction and simulator operation conducted during the scheduled simulator periods shall not be curtailed by the administrative duties required by the PWS. This does not relieve the I/O of the administrative requirements described in the PWS. Note: At each supported location the Governmentrsquo;s Standardization Pilot will conduct a ldquo;check riderdquo;, IAW the ATM, of the assigned I/Os to train and certify the Contractor I/O in the particular unitrsquo;s standard operating procedures, tactics, and standards. Upon successful completion of the check-ride the I/O shall provide training within the bounds of AR 95-1 and the airframe respective ATM. Essential Functions Statements Duties:Develop, maintain, and distribute a weekly use schedule for unit and regional pilotsrsquo; training.Update this schedule weekly in coordination with the local Quality Assurance Representative.The supported battalions/units/AASF will develop its own Simulator Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) containing policies, guidelines, and administrative procedures for scheduling simulator training and keeping records.Contribute to any development or revision of the Simulator SOP and shall comply with the SOP as long as it does not conflict with this PWS.Instruction of all base and mission tasks in accordance with the appropriate aircraft ATM, APART academic evaluation topics as listed in the applicable ATM, mission scenario development, instrument training/evaluation, crew coordination, and collective operator training.Provide in the monthly report, at a minimum, the performance tasks accomplished at each device location and projected tasks to be accomplished for the following month.Services shall be adequate to support 4-5 two-hour periods per day per simulator device. The number of periods per day will be dependent upon the operating hours of that device as prescribed by the local command. Simulators will typically be operated between the hours of 0700 and 1900 local time but can be flexed to accommodate the facilities operating hours. ARNG training sites typically operate four (4) days each week for ten (10) hours each day and at least one weekend each month. Traditional five (5) day, eight (8) hour per day, one weekend each month schedules can also be found at some ARNG facilities. This role does have simulator Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Instructor Pilot (IP) supervisory responsibilities. Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an administrative aviation, clerical, office, and Flight Line setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job requires academic, flight line and ground instructor pilot duties and aviation flight.Physical DemandsThis is an active aviation flight simulator role; some physical abilities are required. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager. This Task Order provides services for Army National Guard Training Sites (AATS): 1) Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (EAATS), located at Ft. Indian Town Gap, PA 2) Western Army National Guard Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (WAATS), located at Marana, AZ and 3) High Altitude Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (HAATS), located at Gypsum, CO. Except on recognized US holidays, when the Government facility/installation is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government-directed facility/installation closings, the contractor shall provide services at the specified facility (EAATS, WAATS, and HAATS) during core hours, generally between the hours of 0800-1630 on Monday through Friday. Actual work hours will be defined by facility requirements and the local Government Quality Assurance Representative (QAR). As required, contractors will be subject to rotational shifts to include nights and weekends for the uninterrupted performance of all tasks defined within this PWS. Telecommuting is not authorized.Facility Location: Located on Silver Bell Army Heliport, Marana, AZ the WAATS is a TRADOC OASS certified aviation training institution that conducts ARNG directed flight and academic instruction in the UH-60A/L/M and UH-72A aircraft, enlisted training for utility helicopter maintainers, non-commissioned officer professional military education, and ASI/MOS qualification training for flight operations. Additionally, the WAATS provides regional flight simulation support in the UH-60A/L/M, and the UH-72A, simulators for all Army components. Travel Travel requirements are: Generally, None. Maintain the repair station roster for the repair station by ensuring that changes in personnel or job duties are reflected on the roster within five (5) business days as required RQCM
Train, and assist all personnel performing work under the repair station certificate.
Coordinate and distribute revisions to all company-controlled manuals. Ensure that the manuals kept current and accurate.
Respond to any request for inspection of this repair station’s certificate.
Ensure that work accomplished outside the repair station’s fixed location is performed in accordance with this manual
Ensure appropriate calibrations and checks are made on the tools and equipment used by the repair station and company, maintain calibration records andprovide records to each department and aircraft.
Audit all maintenance function contractors before use and maintain the results of those audits.
Work with the HSE to maintain the repair station, training, and other pertinent records.
Continuously review the repair station’s training program to ensure all the repair station’s training needs are met.
Reports to the General Manager.
