Flying helicopters in Bali, Indonesia. Paradise, right? It can be. But dropping half-ton sling loads into jungle clearings with no margin for error calls for skilful flying and a lot of trust. Heli SGI have been doing it for over 16 years. Heli SGI operate a fleet of several Bell helicopters, including the Bell 206, Bell 407 and the Eagle 407HP. Their medium fleet comprises of a Bell 212 and a Bell 412. They operate tourist flights in Bali, and provide helicopter support to mining operations across Indonesia by flying underslung loads with mining equipment into remote areas of the mountains and jungle. Heli SGI pilots are highly skilled, but they depend on engineers and technicians to keep the helicopters flying. Heli SGI train graduates to conduct line and depth maintenance on helicopters, and have a apprenticeship programs recruiting from local colleges. Over 90% of their technicians are Indonesian.
